Shantae embarks on her first full HD adventure! After three highly successful outings with Shantae, Shantae: Risky’s Revenge, and Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse, Shantae and her friends finally get a full HD console-based sequel! Boasting vivid, detailed high-definition graphics that retain the 2D hand-drawn sprites the series is known for, this newest entry in the Shantae series almost looks like a playable TV show! Presented as a stage-based 2.5D platformer with heavy exploration elements, Shantae uses her trademark Hair-Whip Attack to dispatch enemies, then takes advantage of her Belly Dance Magic to transform into 8 different forms that each have their own unique abilities and move sets. As new forms are mastered, old stages can be re-explored to unearth new items and secrets, ensuring there’s plenty of content on offer for novices and platforming gurus alike. Topple the villainous Baron behind each criminal caper afflicting Sequin Land, and prepare for the ultimate showdown against Shantae’s arch-nemesis: that bodacious buccaneer, Risky Boots!

Product Features

  • Shantae’s Trademark Belly Dance Moves Return – Dance to transform into all-new (and fan favorite) creatures; 8 transformations and over a dozen dances to master
  • New Relic System – Unlock new powers and customize Shantae’s move set for a platforming experience uniquely tailored to your own gameplay style
  • Conquer Arcade-Style Action Stages – Beat the boss, then find new items and secrets by way of the new abilities and transformations you’ve learned, linking Sequin Land into a fully explorable world
  • Huge Bosses, Humorous Dialogue – Become reacquainted with the cast of Shantae in full HD, with exquisitely detailed sprites, immersive 2.5D backdrops, wonderfully off-beat dialogue, and nonstop action

Another great game in the series! If you are new to the Shantae series but enjoy retro/platformers this is a great game to start out with! This game is similar to games like Metroid/Castlevania in the sense that you gain abilities, backtrack to get new items and unlockables to move ahead. If your already a fan of the Shantae games you need to get this! The games new animation looks fantastic and the gameplay has remained tight and responsive like it always has. The box set physical release is also pretty awesome if you’re a…

Enjoyable, Funny, and Possibly The Best Entry In The Series I’ve only just gotten into the Shantae series, but for me, this one is the best. I still have not played the first game in the series, but I have played Risky’s Revenge and Pirates Curse. Pirates Curse was my favorite until I played Half-Genie Hero. Graphically the game is beautiful, music is on point, and there are several great tracks here. This edition even came with the soundtrack! This one is less connected than the other games, the areas are all separate and while they do have reasons to…

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero I love this game! The previous games in the series have all been excellent too (Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse being my favorite), and Half-Genie Hero continues this streak of quality. The new HD art style is stunningly gorgeous, the music is catchy as hell, the gameplay is varied and challenging in a well-crafted and fun way, the characters are all unique and memorable and the writing is consistently hilarious (even if it doesn’t quite reach the same levels of pure meta-crazy as Pirate’s Curse…
